Torafugu Tech joined Dotforge Health + Data in Spring 2016.
Torafugu tech provides streamlined customer data and AI based analytics to life insurers to supercharge conversions from price comparison websites.
Torafugu tech is an analytics business focussing on life insurance to increase product personalisation and improve the health & wellbeing of its members. Currently the consumer pays a ‘one size fits all’ premium for their life insurance. With the increasing popularity of wearables, the insurance industry now has new hardware providing time-dependent data to enhance the calculation of actuarial risk and control lifetime book risk. Using data from wearables, sensors and mobiles our digital health platform utilises state-of-the-art AI analytics, combined with the provision of expert knowledge and behaviour nudges to help members live a healthier, happier and more productive life.
The big vision: At Torafugu tech we have developed a new platform aimed at the life insurance market, potentially looking to be Monzo/Revolut for life insurance. Not necessarily restricted to just the ‘millennial’ but that demographic has been our main focus in user panels that we have convened to design the product to date. Our USP is our bespoke algorithms which are built bottom up from specific medical risk domains. Starting initially with cardiovascular disease, then diabetes and we have recently won a grant to tackle lung cancer (with a road map to adding other types of solid tumors). Mental Health to follow.
